It's been a reminder of the Good (?) old days when going to an away game was a real adventure & coming home in one piece was an achievement in itself.

Trouble at football does did and will continue to happen. What's wrong with discussing it?

This thread is fucking embarrassing.

Anybody who went to alot of away games in the 80's will know that the thread is not a embarrassing as they would be able to relate to having to keep a low profile to get away from the ground safely. Sometimes you would be bricking it

Agree

Thanks,
I can remember going to Nothampton in 86 when we won 1-0 and bricking myself as lots of Northampton fans came out of an alley way and attacked a Z Hire van full of town fans.Luckily they were able to drive off as they were trying to force the back doors open
Scary or what

Yeah, I know that. I just think that the bad old days (and for anyone who went to football to watch the football, that's what they were) have been talked to death.

I remember being 10 years old in 1993 and going to the manor ground and taking them all on.

some of us obviously find a bit of talk about the old days interesting.the common room banter on here can also be tiresome to others

I totally agree having been to many games in that period it obviously is interesting to us older fans and how scary it was at times to follow your team away from home knowing that the home fans were waiting to kick your head in after the game.
