Never understand the logic of apportioning any of the blame to the Police when it kicks off like this. How about just blaming the mindless thugs that are actually causing the trouble rather than those risking their lives trying to stop them? |

Its a tricky one isn't it. Go in heavy handed then risk even more of a flare up. Do nothing and people could die. It needs to be put to bed sooner rather than later for that reason. Just as Morrisey prophesised...

Exactly. Whose fault is it that a group of individuals decide to break into a shop? Or throw missiles at riot police? Or set cars and buses and buildings on fire? We can blame poverty for causing aggrovation, we can blame social media for facilitating spontaneous organisation, we can blame the police or the government for alienating social groups, but at the end of the day there is nobody in this society who has any just cause to do the things that are being done. It is a matter of people seeking an opportunity to look good, to get something for themselves, and to get a kick out of something they're likely to get away with. |
