Daily Mail pretty sure they know where's he's headed.

How are they so confident? Phone-tapping perhaps?

Why Ipswich? Surley he must have better offers. Unless they are the only ones to have met our valuation.

It's the only bid we've accepted thats why.

Blackpool, Saints and Burnley obviously didn't offer enough so he wasn't given permission to talk to them !

Just the first shot in the bidding war. "OK, chaps, Ipswich have met the valuation, up to you to increase your bids now". Hopefully this should up the ante, cos I think he can do better than Ipswich

Where does the urban myth about us not signing any players come from?  We've been as active, maybe even mroe so, in terms of transfers coming in over the past 2/3 years as at any time I can remember.  They may not be the right players, but we've signed plenty in each Transfer window.

Why do we care where he goes? he'll be dead to me.  I'm not angry at him leaving, just won't have any interest in the career of a Blackpool/Soton/Ipswich/Burnley/Hull player.

Best of luck to him, glad this has come to a conclusion but I just wish it hadn't dragged out until the 27th of the bloody month.
Oh, and agree with this. Wish him well, thanks for the goals and now please fuck off quick for a large amount of cash (to a side we're not going to play against in the near future)

My problem is that the longer we wait the more likely it is we will get a higher bid. Blakpool may even make a bid which reflects his true value.
On the contrary the longer it talkes the less likely we are to sign a decent replacement.
So I think someone who offers cash plus player exchange may win the bidding war.

One last thgought tho'. If he decides he wants to go to Ipswich, (having been given permission to speak to them) could he go there despite a better bid from some one else or can we tell him their bid is no longer enough

Nope, Austin wanted to leave and is making a clear step up. We all knew about a year ago this day would come soon.

Greer didnt and worst of all we didnt even try and keep him, which still to this day is fucking stupid.
