Ultimately its a decision of the owner of the site (no idea who that is), free speech exists, as does freedom to be ignored and freedom for someone whose commercial property is being used for such effect to sack you off!
One advantage of the events of the last few months is that it has bought the racists into open view.
It's me and I'd not seen this. I've just banned him for 7 days (soft, I know) but I'm sure when his ban is listed he'll probably delete himself. Racism shouldn't be tolerated on any level. And I don't really give a fuck what people do and say on the forum, but I draw the line at racism. I fucking hate it and there's no flexibility on that. |

I've unfollowed/blocked a couple of people on FB recently - something I haven't done before.
One was a guy I knew to be a Daily Mail reader type but his level of ignorance has really revealed itself lately. Apparently all the recent kerfuffle was because of one 'career criminal'. I didn't bother challenging him, what's the point?

I think that's fair too. Thanks to Barry for dealing with it quickly. After the ban is over, a genuine apology from LL and acknowledgment that saying that sort of stuff is wrong and won't be repeated is all that's needed (as far as I'm concerned anyway). And then we hopefully never have to bring it up again. |
