Our getting power back 48 hours earlier than originally expected, Electricity NW have played a blinder... Lovely to return to the 21st century.
Oh well the whole city went off again at 1555 last evening  and has just come on again... no wonder the victorians had loads of kids there is bugger all else to do with no electricity in the evenings!

It was like that in the early/mid 70's when the 3 day week happened, and electricity was rationed....nothing for it but to invite a bird round, candles and wine ready  Smiley

Indeed, there was a mini baby boom after that. I remember it but was in my very early teens. A missed opportunity  Sad

The amount of posts on Swindon For Sale and Wanted that people comment on when they're on the wind up.  It appears Jayo and his mate were no shows for a £3 metal tray, but the seller is blissfully unaware the whole raft of comments were sarcastic

I suspect there is going to be a baby boom in August/September 2016 in Lancaster.

Apart from a brief period mid afternoon we had power all day yesterday feeling very modern now!

Really, I remember it being a Tuesday night. Saw Iron Maiden in the Ampitheatre at the Brunel afterwards.
