I mean - it’s very early days but TTs England have been absolutely fucking woeful so far.

Southgate has got the most out of England & he was an internal appointment from the under 21s - so I can see why people might have preferred that route again accentuated by the awfully dull start

Reading comments like "why did England pick a German manager instead of a talented English manager like Lee Carsley" & "they should have gone with Carsley as he knows the game better than Tuchel"

Carsley had 40 games playing for the republic of Ireland although born in Birmingham.

Wasn't his 1 caretaker game with the full team very underwhelming? And yes, i know you can't take 1 game as anything like enough to know how well he could do.

Tuchel's spell so far has been terribly underwhelming also but he's an experienced coach so let's see how the world cup goes before making a real judgement on his tenure.

Have a feeling that the next few years will be like the post Sven era.
He couldn’t get past the Quarter final stage of a tournament, but most of the managers (until Southgate) struggled to get us to the quarter finals.

I fear we could be heading the same way again

You really, really don't want a country where the Prime Minister can make charging decisions or just throw people in jail.

As it is I'd be shocked if there weren't charges brought, but the justice system does not do anything overnight, especially at weekends.

Good thing the justice system is well funded and hasn't got any backlogs, at least, as they're going to be hella busy.

Especially if they proscribe Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation under the Terrorism Act today (the definition of terrorist is getting very grey/blurred in recent years), considering that means anyone who has hinted at support could be looking at time there are going to have to be a lot of early releases to clear up some prison space.

On the bright side the fact that the PM and government have so much time to be wading personally into such matters involving a military force that the UN have identified as having committed acts that could constitute genocide suggests that everything is pretty sanguine in good old Blighty.

The normal Free Speech warriors on social media have been all very quiet about the whole thing as well, which is odd....

We’re a right old nanny state. Health alerts cos the temperature is high for a day or 2. FFS, people go off on holiday every year into similar temperatures for their entire 2 weeks.

Another example of the woolly-headed nonsense around these days.

I mean, statistically there are quite a lot more deaths in the UK when the weather gets like this. It's vulnerable people mostly I'd imagine, and the alert system is probably used as a signal to a lot of services to start preparing/taking preventative measures to help them. Going on holiday hunting for heat is a bit different to some old granny stuck in boiling hot flat in a big city.

Maybe so, but I’d wager old granny has lived through a fair few previous hot temperature days before.

Yes, thanks to Mr Flip Flop.

Talking of which, how come the mainstream media has swerved his private life completely when every nook and cranny of Doris Johnson was splattered all over the place?
