What was the initial news story?
4 petrol stations out of stock?
Media need fucking for this. The Sun front page with a nozzle saying we are all going to run out..
All political parties need to have a representative in a Media control committee set up until things have settled down...maybe mid 2022 fingers crossed. I hate political interference with the press/media but they have taken the piss this time.
Agreed

Where do you draw the line on this? (Not you personally)
I queued up earlier for 30 mins and got a full tank, my main reason is I was running low and want to go over and see my girlfriend tonight and probably once or twice more this week (20 mile drive). Would most people class that as important enough? Probably not. Do I class it as important enough? Hell yes
I agree with Hunk, nothing wrong with that. My point was more that (apart from emergency vehicles) whether you are a nurse or a road sweeper, Dr or an office worker, Fireman or a warehouse worker, filling uo your car doesn't make you a panic buyer necessarily, it means you are being sensible and ensuring you are able to get to work, or to anywhere you are going that you have planned in your case. The panic buyers are those that are filling up loads of cans and tanks on top of their cars, or those (as I witnessed this morning) that are topping up their cars even though they have nearly a full tank. I filled up this morning (as I have to drive to Dartford tomorrow for work) and the 2 people in front of me, both put in around a tenner after I watched them clicking the nozzle for full..

I reckon they should only sell to people a minimum of £50 worth of fuel.

I was on empty needed to buy some fuel yesterday to make a journey today. I bought enough to complete that journey - no more no less. I thought that I would leave a bit for others.
I don't think that my car will take £50 worth.

Me too, I have to go to Cheltenham (100 miles each way) later in the week overnight so put in £15 yesterday which will probably give me a little running around fuel too for shopping, my car takes £42 from empty to filled but I also get around 75mpg anyway.

Also mildly annoying, the new E10 fuel seems shit. It may be psychological and imagined but my vehicle doesn't seem to run as well on it.

I had to wait a whole minute at the pumps whilst the attendant proudly explained his new hand held terminal. Described himself as Inspector Gadget!

Stole it from Swindon people tonight at Sainsburys South Marston. So I stole if from myself. Done 410 miles today. Finished up in Banbury via Brackley, Huntingdon, Swadlincote and Tewkesbury. I have carried printed labels for the pharma industry, electronic hardware for mobile phone masts and small electronic kit to remote field engineers and to a food processing factory. So yeah, I’d say my work is fucking key and essential during my 12 hours on the road.

It's psychological. Anything made since the early nineties should run on E10 no problem at all. Anyone stockpiling it however might find it's more water absorbent and will separate easier if stored for a long time.
