I've had 2 fail in 7 years at a cost of 4 grand in total.  Look on the plus side though, it's summer, both of mine failed in December.
That is the only plus side as the enginner said the boiler was in no fit state to stay on and had to turn it off. Luckily we still have hot water.

Boilers been playing up recently, has someone look at it today and it turns out its buggered. Repair will be circa £750-£1000 which they can't guarantee will last any more than 2-5 years at best or a new one circa £1500. Not what i wanted to hear

Heat exchanger?

Depending on who gave you the quote (please don't say British Gas), you might be able to get it done cheaper.

I dont know the ins and out, my wife was at home looking after the kids so she didn't really catch it all, they are going to email me a summary and my options, but there was mention of carbon monoxide build up. It wasn't british gas, it was an independant contractor who i trust not to bullshit me.

Some berk drove into the side of my wife's car this morning. That's the trivial bit, slightly more serious is that she's 15 weeks pregnant. All fine, thankfully, been to RUH to get checked out, bit sore and achy, nothing more.

Then on the way back from the hospital another berk tried to drive into my car! Some people are fucking dangerous.

Doesn't annoy me, and i'm not ship engineer, but this bugger looks way too top heavy for my liking.

I'd imagine it's got thrusters which make moving sideways a cinch.

I'm 25 in a few weeks and the name "Dick Bate" still makes me laugh.

I'm a little older than that....but names like the Brighton full back....Bong, still make me laugh.  The reprobates on here probably think of some drug paraphenalia, but I think of things like the Bong Tree in Lear's Owl and the Pussy Cat...seeing as how Brighton were playing the Owls.

Also had a chuckle at the Amex pitch side ad board, promoting B and HA's official florist  Smiley

There was a baseball player called Rusty Kuntz. Antonio Bastardo and Bartolo Colon are still playing. Actually Colon is worth looking up...'Big Sexy'.

 Cheesy surely not!

Bong is one of those beautiful onomatopoeic words. I've taken to "spong" as well, it just sounds lovely in a childish sort of way.

It's got to have a tinge of credibility to be funny to me, Rusty Kuntz is just too far. I think my favourite ever has to be Hite: the one reference I never forgot in my exams, because of course she was always referenced as S. Hite. Always enjoyable to write something in an essay and put (Shite) after it. Rather than before Wink

Rusty won the 2015 World Series as a coach of KC. He's real, I tell thee.

I didn't mean he wasn't real, just that the name Rusty Kuntz is too obvious to make me giggle as childishly as someone like S. Hite or A. hole.

Also baseball is a bit S. Hite   Wink
