And what about saint fucking ryan.  Sports personality of the year for fucking his brothers wife.

They're all a bunch of cunts and the media over reaction to their retirement is just typical of this ridiculous age we live in.

I've always liked him as a footballer, for his ability and his loyalty.

A lot of people use the lack of a Premier League medal as a stick to hit him with, but his career achievements otherwise speak for themselves.

Pretty much this.

It's mostly by United fans with their strange logic who give him stick. They'll put George Best up with Pele and Maradonna even though he never even played in a World Cup but use Gerrard's lack of a PL medal against him being one of the best of the last 20 years.

Read last night that Stanley Matthews, Bobby Moore and about half a dozen English football legends also never won the title and it hasn't tarnished their reputations.

Gerrard is undoubtedly one of the greats. 2005 Champions League and 2006 FA Cup were proper Roy of the Rovers exploits. The kind of player who was involved in moments where as a neutral I was genuinely cheering.

Personally Ive always liked Stevie G.  There is worse arse kissing done in the press than of a player who has served one club and his country for many years.  So here is my latest whinge about the arse kissing.

Tony Pulis.  Apparently there are only 19 clubs in the prem that can go down as WBA have absolutely guaranteed their safety by bringing in Tiny Penis. He is the best manager in the world and this is true because Ive seen it said on MOTD and heard it constantly on radio 5.

Hang on are you sure this is not all tainted a bit by the fact that he works as a fucking pundit on your tv / radio station?  One of the boys, good old Tone.  Our bessie mate.  Lets kiss his arse for a while.

I dont want WBA to go down as I have a good mate who is a WBA fan, but really cant he fuck it up and then be sacked leaving them to be saved by someone else.  It'll save the BBC some Jizz.

I don't care about premiership medals or their absence - what makes Stevie G very special indeed is his loyalty to one club, his local club and it's not his fault he gets all the media fawning.

Some way behind John Trollope's 775 appearances over a 20 year career but in its way, given the era and the nature of Premiership and European football, equally admirable.

I think he deserves some serious respect and even a little fawning (if not from me)

Some really shit players have won PL medals.  Its proving to be totally hilarious to Man U and Chelsea fans to point this out.

Ronnie Wallwork has a Premier League medal..

Travelling back from Blackpool on the train last evening I was opposite a town fan who had a split shirt on - half was our shirt from this season and the other vertical blue and white stripes with the end of the sponsor logo being energy?

Any idea what team this would be?

Hartlepool.

Can't remember the guy's name, but he's been around for years with a new half and half shirt every season.

I asked him about Hartlepool after our Brighton playoff semi defeat. It was double shit for him as iirc Hartlepool lost to the slave traders the night before.

Iirc there was no real link to Hartlepool, he just chose them. Bet he's kicking himself now..

Everybody knows that RWB stands for right wing back, who in their right mind thinks that it stands for Wootton Bassett.

My wife is having one of those nights. She has so far clicked on on of those spam links in Facebook (meaning I have spent half an hour tracking down various downloaded programmes and removing them) and she has bid on a sofa on e-bay in Weston-Super-Mare that will be much less of a bargain if I have to hire a van to go and collect it.

Anyone a Moonpig customer? Even if you're not particularly techy, that link should make sense (ignore the code bits!). That's some of the worst web security I've ever seen. Mind blowing.
