Question for any meteorologists out there. When metcheck.com forecasts that we're going to get approx 7mm of rain falling as snow in the next 24 hours, how deep will the snow lie assuming it all settles (which it probably will at the moment)?

I presume 7mm! What I am not sure with metcheck is whether that is 7mm total for the 3 hour time block or 7mm per hour.

I chuckled earlier when we received an email at work about the severe weather conditions which said "we will be monitoring the situation on the BBC website".
That'll be the BBC weather guys that make their forecasts by taking a quick peek out of the window then.

Couple of inches on top of the old stuff, but it's still coming down. Mucked out the horses at 5.30 and saw three cars gone off the road on the way back. Difficult to see where the icey stretches are under the new stuff I guess.

Meeting in Stoke today...left Calne at 6AM and returned half an hour later as the main road from Calne to Chippenham was a joke....
Home office for me today....this snow is starting to piss me off now.
