Following a domestic discussion, my superior half has deemed the pickled egg as the greatest of culinary sins. I, meanwhile, put forward the view that the pickled egg is the only true rival to the pork scratching as the king of pub snacks. Surely my view will be supported by the wonderfully wise population on the TEF?

A pickled egg in a pub is a rare treat for me. It tastes better from a pub than it does at a chippy.
I have been enjoying buying a bag of cockles from the pub in recent times though

Pickled eggs are wrong. Pickled onions are right.
Spastic typing.

Chippy gherkins
I was about to say the same thing..a chippy pickled egg might not taste the same as a pub pickled egg...but a chippy gherkin beats one at home.
