It has to be a given that Twine is back in January doesn’t it? It’s not quite a Doyle/Bradford situation as there was never a suggestion he didn’t suit our style.

It's a bit more Yates loan last year. Young player drops down a level for development and scores a few goals. We should recall him just for the angst it would cause in South Wales.

And hitting the cross bar from a free kick too. Worth watching the video: https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/teams/newport-county/12116481/newport-2-1-colchester

Twine, in the current climate probably has to/will be recalled (then utilised) in Jan. He's done exactly as any manager has asked of him; gone out on loan to get game time and as an added bonus (expectation) for a forward/striker/attacker, he has also scored goals. He's a different player to Pitman but they both share the same priority to score said goals. Twine is currently exceeding this requirement. Pitman (yes he's injured atm) is not.

Some of his goals have been absolute class. His style of goals have continued on from ones he scored in pre-season too.

Time to cut some slack and reel him in, for Twine is proving to be much more than just a soap on a rope.

Twine is playing centre midfield, not striker, for Newport. So the comparison to Pitman is irrelevant. Would he be a better option than Payne? Probably not?
