Firstly apologies for the dull topic:
I need to buy a washing machine, I've never bought one before, anyone got any advice on brands / sellers / features etc.
Ta.

I've got a Hotpoint. I don't know how it works, that's not my department, but it cleans my clothes.
We bought from Currys.
Hope that helps.

I asked the wife, she said something about spins and the higher being the better. Apparently ours is a 1400.

Yeah, you'd be better off canvassing the opinions of some females, I reckon...

Tinternet says don't buy hotpoint and cheap ones will break soon costing more. Hmm. I want a cheap one though.

An interesting topic and no mistake axs.
Washing machines that are cheapish have a shelf life of about 2/3 years.
I had a fairly pricey one which lasted over 20...it got too expensive to repair, because buying a cheapo one was well.. cheaper.
The original was a Hotpoint....but they went bust and the name was taken by Candy, so what is sold as a Hotpoint now isn't proper.
My original Hotpoint had a massive workload...family of 4...babies, kids, etc...my present cheapo does a lot less.
So my advice would be if you're planning a family, go top end, if you're still having fB round to occasionally cut his hair....a cheapo should do.

I think I might go for the cheapest Bosch one, cheapish and well built.

Bosch and Meile are the best.
Or buy cheap and replace as you go.....
Works about the same.

The Miele's start at about £600, I'm sure they're lovely but I'm not crazy or rich.
