Did he say what type of midfielder?
Attacking however said his defensive work improved as the season went on. He said that in his opinion when he came on against us he changed the game for them which they went on to win late on.

Speaking of ex Newport loans, I was impressed with Azaz last season for them. Had a quick google to see if he'd be loaned out yet from Villa. Gone to Plymouth. Shame as could've been one we wanted to get done especially with the relationship we formed with them last season.

I mean sure if that's how the relationship came about, but there's no reason why that can't be sustained now is there would you think? considering we did pretty well with KKH and Barry. Just because Garner and Chorley have gone, I'd like to think Villa would still trust us as a club. Who knows.

Not if you don’t think they’re going to be coached well…..

Indeed, Garner's reputation amongst the Academy set-ups would be second to none. While it won't be like starting from scratch, I imagine more convincing would be needed with some clubs to let them release players they would otherwise not want this far down the food chain. In fact, given I've still not seen enough from Garner that he'll make it in Management, that type of over arching Technical Director could well be his future.

Back in the days of preseason, when everyone was trying to identify players from press photographs, and there was the one that looked like Zlatan stood in the background that everyone seemed to think was a GK.. I was told by a very reliable source that this was Azaz. He was only with us for a short trial and he/club turned us down, probably when Plymouth came in for him no doubt. Make of that what you will..

Another midfielder.
I know Aguiar is likely to go out on loan, but we do seem a bit overloaded in this area.
Do we? Gladwin, Williams, Reed, Darcy, Khan and to a degree Iandolo depending on where he's needed, if as you say Ricky goes away on loan then one more would be 6.5 players (Iandolo the 0.5 as he'll be deployed on the left too) for 3 positions, we played 4 CMs on Saturday after half time so that to me looks to be the right amount? Not trying to be argumentative on this occasion, have I forgotten anyone? Apologies if I have.
