Wasn't it a £1m we had to pay back before the embargo is lifted fully?
Perhaps by cutting back this year and building some foundations, we will be in a much better place next season.
I think it is exactly this to be honest. It's pointless paying it back just yet when it is interest free and theres no real need. Plenty of other things need paying first

I think it’s fair to say we have enough attacking options but we are a bit light on actual strikers.
If Simpson’s gets injured or recalled or whatever, I worry we’ll have loads of attacking mids all floating around the edge of the box/outwide and then no one in the box to aim for/get on the end of it.
We know this. They know this. There are probably still some options out there but there is no point bringing on players for the sake of it just because.
Listening to Joey Barton talk yesterday he mentioned theres an abundance of No 10's & wide players to choose from but a real shortage of old school number 9 forwards so surely that has to be down to coaches phasing them out of the modern game.

I'd love it if a team came out one of these days and played in a good old fashioned 2-3-5 formation... it might be worth it just for pure shock value. Would certainly be entertaining....

Good man JJ! Legend.
Here are a few that are available still. Not feasible... Daniel Sturridge Hal Robson-Kanu Andy Carroll Connor Wickham Experienced.... Kazaiah Sterling Keiran Agard Jerome Sinclair Alex Jones JJ Hooper Kurtis Guthrie Denny Johnson Tomi Ameobi Steve Davies Ismael Miller Jay Simpson Joe Dodoo Experienced ex Swindon.... Wes Thomas Nicky Ajose Simon Cox TBH that list doesnt look very appealing other than Keiran Agard.

Thanks JJ. Just had a quick scoot down the list.
Jerome Sinclair is only 24 but is another Forward/Winger. Looks to have tried his luck abroad in the Netherlands and Bulgaria but neither spell worked out.
Agard - would have him but imagine out of our price bracket.
Alex Jones - well he is a striker, but pretty meh. This stat on Wiki is pretty impressive 'Jones has excellent finishing skills, and scored his first nine goals for Port Vale from just 19 shots'

Which Alex Jones is it, if its the Infowars one its a no from me but I would quite like to see the one who presents The One Show in a Swindon shirt?
