Perfection is not attainable

Apparently he's been in some sort of contractual dispute with his last club, which would explain why he has not played.
2 years without a game is a long time out of the game, nothing to lose giving him a trial anyway and still younger than Baudry, Grant, Caddis and Doyle.

Grant is a year older I think but the rest are all 32  Wink Maybe younger than them but not by many weeks/months. As you say, nothing to lose in having him on trial. He could just be training with us to get a good pre-season in him. Could imagine someone like Salford signing him.

You wonder why they signed him really, still.... I'm sure a promising and lucrative career in FIFA20, Super Mario Brothers, general social media dicking around, awaits him...

As OOH! said, doesn't seem interested in football any more just a streaming career. Waste of time it seems.

Not the impression I got from his LS pod. Seemed to love his football.

Also talked of a big preseason for Twine, Reid and Curran. Sounds like they all need to impress to be around the squad. Very positive on the young Giametti (spelling?) though but said majority of youth will go out on loan.

Even if he went into gaming in the future, the suggestion that McGilp prioritised it over professional football is very unfair.

Sadly for him, Town have way too many options and it makes sense for him to move on in some capacity.

To be fair mate, I think he brought that on himself... hopefully he'll learn from it.

What lesson?

I couldn't listen to the interview so I might have missed something.

But what is the lesson? Don't play computer games? Or, at least, don't be good at them because people will think you're taking it more seriously than your day job?

McGilp is 22 year old footballer who lives alone and in the other end of the world from his family, he uses gaming to interact with his pals in other countries. Sometimes he used it to engage with fans at reasonable times of the day.

To be honest, this isn't a hill that I'm exactly willing to die on! He clearly hasn't progressed as much as anyone would have liked but I think its unfair to simply say it's down to hobbies getting in the way.

I guarantee McGilp games as much as 100s of other players. Weird to use that against him.

You can see why some stars/celebs crack. They're always under the spotlight and can be accused of all sorts just for things like gaming in their spare time. And McGlip's not even a celeb, rather just a youth/fringe player for a lower league team.

Fuck that. Not for me. I would not want that life.
