But but but.... we only ever end up with the players that are left at the end of the transfer window because Power won’t put his hand in his pocket, so we end up with the cheap players no one wants.

Is he obliged to put his hand in his pocket? Would that be wise in this current financial climate?

I have heard that we have a friendly on Tuesday and Saturday next week, being held at the County Ground (I assume because of Covid protocol).  I didn't hear anything about the opponents.

Could be wrong but I thought RW said:

1. Non-league friendly this Sat
2. Prem U23 team on Tuesday
3. Man Utd XI on Tue 18th
4. Some others pencilled in around the North West but plans may need to change dependent on the local lockdown situation.
5. All game against local non-league sides cancelled due to testing issues

Whether it’s Power or someone else, the finances at the club seem sound enough if the present recruitment/new contracts are anything to go by.

We know Wellens isn’t a ‘consolidation’ manager - he wants to give it a go. Could actually be a good season to do so.

I think you might have missed Quagmire's rather heavy sarcasm there. And anyway, he'd be putting his hand in Gareth Barry's pocket if anything Smiley

Yes, that has been true in the past dear customer. However, this is the new improved formula Swindon Town. Made with real, yes real players.

Not anymore. This isn’t just any old football team, this is a Lee Power football team. * T&C’s apply.

Just looking at the Guardian team of the year, and Jonny Smith, who was at Oldham is in it. I’m pretty certain he was mentioned as a target in January. A fast winger. Think he’s still at Bristol City (parent club) so it’s be great if we can make another move for him.

Presume it’s now unlikely Woolery and/or Isgrove are staying. Doesn’t Wellens usually put a deadline for accepting a new offer and then it’s withdrawn.

Got the feeling their replacements are already in place.
