Was it/is it raining in Swindon today?

Certainly is in SN3

I always felt DJ was the most likely to do something a bit special - which he did from time to time.

I’ve based mine on the assumption that without Doyle - Yates would go up top. DJ is probably better as a creator so would be ahead of Yates if you’re specifically looking for an attacking midfielder / wide player...

As Anderson, Yates and DJ all played regularly in the same side, which position would DJ play with the first 2 give?

Replacement for Yates or Anderson’s No. 10 role?
Just replace Anderson or just the same role as he played last season, Anderson was injured most of the time once DJ recovered from his injury so doubt they actually played that many games together.

Just checked, Anderson only started 4 games between the 19th of October and when the season was suspended.

Personally felt we were at our best without a 10, but with Lydon in midfield with Grant and Doughty.

Yates is hardworking but unspectacular

DJ is spectacular but inconsistent

DJ was my player of the season from NYD onwards. Would be a welcome boost.

DJ>Yates>Anderson for me too.

DJ has that something special that can turn a game, Yates is a grafter, Anderson a luxury 50% of the time.

So, that great run we had coincided with Anderson being absent from the side?

DJ is never going to get you 20+ goals a season.
I think Yates would have easily if he was our main striker.

Rotherham seemingly didn't think he was capable of that in league 1 last season so I'm not convinced he would be as prolific.

I can't see Yates ever being that prolific either, his "on target strike rate" is poor, he scores difficult goals but hardly ever got the "easier" ones like Doyle got.

Yates is a 10 to 15 goals a season max consistantly IMO, hes not a goal poacher never has been its not his natural position, he works hard and creates chances and sometimes gets a few goals to boot.
