Logic suggests Benda has been signed with a view to displacing McCormick, in the coming weeks if not straight away.  There would be little point in Swansea loaning a keeper to a team to sit on the bench when he can do that with them, and with only one spot up fro grabs, it;s not like sending an outfield player to a club who might be in and out of the first team.
I agree with what you are saying but he hasn't been sitting on their bench this season, hes 3rd choice and hasn't even made the bench yet, he has also not played a single U23 game for them so hes behind their 1st 2 U23 level choices too.

In essence hes at least a 4th choice there at Swansea it would seem.

I doubt Wellens will have brought him in if he didn't think he was near our first team level though, something he seems to doubt in Henry.

Nope, Ballards loan was cancelled after he got a bad injury.
Yes we do:

Yates
Doyle
Grant
May
Jaiyesimi
Benda

So I would imagine that will be May out of the squad when all are fit. Certainly no room for any more loans in the window.

He's not playing for the u23s because he was earmarked for a loan. Signed a new deal in the summer, was always going to go out on loan and they decided on deadline day which is the highest placed/best-placed team to take him.

Oh right I haven't read that anywhere, was it in the press? All I can find is this.

The 20-year-old has been unable to feature of late due to injury, but has found himself some way down the pecking order following the arrival of Newcastle United loanee Freddie Woodman.

I expect Benda to be No.1 within the month.

Zero point in him being here otherwise.

All I can guess is that Benda is a long term target of Wellens/Milldenhall/Jewell otherwise we could not have done our "due dilligence" in scouting him as he hasn't played a game this season yet.

We must have been waiting to see if he has come back from injury enough to challenge for a 1st team place here.

Quite.

And just taking the performances into account  very harsh on McCormick

The Marginal Gains theory being put into action?  Just because someone is doing a good job, doesn't mean you can't improve.  I don't think we sign him if we get the other players in forward positions we were looking for, but I assume we couldn't get any of those deals over the line so looked at a less important position to try and improve.  Grant's signing looks more like creating options than improving, so creating rotation when needed and a better bench.

Putting 2 + 2 together and coming up with 5, but free agent, Anton Ferdinand, was at the development game in Melksham today.

Not sure that if we were to sign a free agent that CB would be the first choice with Broadbent and Curran next in line to replace Conroy and Baudry.

Ferindands best mate is Anthony Wordsworth ex team mate at Southend who played with him for many years, who played yesterday for AFCW.

Haven't seen the team that we played yet apart from Benda, Woolery, Doughty and Sidy.

The club don’t even acknowledge we played yesterday. If it wasn’t for the Wimbledon twitter feed we’d be none the wiser.

Indeed, the only clue I had was that pre match on Saturday Wellens said a few first team players would feature in a development game on this coming Tuesday, yesterday, he didnt mention opposition or where it was to be played though.

He did post match about oppo, not location though, just said behind closed doors.
