Just ended up on the Oxford Mail website from a link and noticed a story about OUFC they are claiming the window does not open until 3rd January for FL clubs
"An administrative issue will affect a host of clubs this week, due to the transfer window opening on January 3, rather than New Year’s Day." "Michael Appleton, United’s head coach, said: “Apparently he can play, he’s been given permission and has signed a form, which he needed to do to play.
“He’s arguably the best right back in the division, that’s just my opinion.
“Obviously it caught a few people on the hop that the window doesn’t open until January 3.”
That is the first I have heard about it all other media outlets say it is 1 minute past midnight 1st January until 11pm feb 2nd

I'm just passing on the latest doing the rounds. I didn't say it was accurate.. I think the interesting thing I that they are royally fucked if they get anymore injuries.
They are unable to put out a full bench..

If we sell him for that it'll be reminiscent of the Ritchie to Bournemouth deal....

Wes?
I am shocked that Wes has not been subject of a bid previously TBH.

Wes?
I'd obviously thought about Wes but I just decided that GK is not a position you sign mid-season and I don't know of any Clubs having a 'keeper crisis. That line of reasoning may be completely flawed but that's why I didn't include him.

6 Town stars essentially means every first team player that isn't a loan player with one exception! I guess the one exception is N Thompson on the basis you have to play a very certain way to get him to do what he does for us at the moment.
Smith Williams Mass Yaser Byrne Foderingham
The concern would be the ones out of contract at the end of this season. Williams/Byrne/Foderingham. Then within that the 2 we assume are on the highest wages because of the era in which they were signed so Williams and Foderingham. The only way you can keep either is promotion and the convincing them, thats a risk for those 2 players to take individually. If we stay in league one i assume both will be off at the end of the season anyway but would be huge blows now.
I hope they all agree to fight together until the end of the season but Williams is worth nothing at the end of the season if we stay down. Perhaps with the news we are looking at this non league forward... though losing Williams would be huge at the moment and i guess his form with Yeovil in the championship may scare off some people.

Really? I know next to nothing about the PL these days I'm afraid. I did say my line of reasoning may be totally flawed! Would they risk going all the way down to L1 for a replacement though?

Nah I doubt they will but they do have a major crisis, but with Pardew moving to Palace I doubt they will sign anyone yet anyway. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-uniteds-injury-crisis---8264712Although I think he could do a job at Championship level maybe the Premiership is a step too far at the moment. And I don't pay much attention to the PL either but have noticed lots of talk about their keeper crisis on FB and media.
