A good move for Gladwin as well. He's not a Premier League player - yet.

Surprised about Gladwin. Don't think he's quite a Championship player yet. Good luck to the lad if this comes off though.

Hope we have sell on/promotion or international cap fees on these two. Wouldn't be surprised to see Gladwin loaned out to lower half of Championship or top half of league 1 after Jan. Not sure he is ready for Championship yet

Luongo as well then. I was hoping they wouldn't be signed together. Basically BOGOF if Luongo is worth 3.5-4m.

Breaking news: BBC Wiltshire understands Swindon Town midfielders Ben Gladwin and Massimo Luongo are set to sign for Queen's Park Rangers.

It was always going to be that way unfortunately due to the 50% sell-on clause.
But I think Ben was good enough to be a good mill or so on his own. A few million next summer!

Reduce the fee for Luongo and keep more overall ourselves, good business. Amazing that only 4 months ago there were concerns whether Gladwin was a first teamer yet and only a few weeks ago there was debate about whether he was all that yet.
That's a midfield 3 sold for about 5million! more than we take in a year from all other revenue streams. Think that justifies the approach and we do know Power will spend not insignificant fees for a club in our position if the future value has a good reward attached to it. Be interesting to see our signings as a result. As much as these big sell ons seem a pain at selling time it does seem to open up a calibre of player otherwise beyond us. Clubs will now see we can polish players and get more money through these deals for the original club.

Luongo, Gladwin and who? Who's the other in the midfield three? I may be having a mind-blank moment...

hmm , hope a reasonable % of sales is used to recruit. if we are at break even and have removed willo and wes from the wage bill it should be shouldn't it.

I wonder what the current thinking is on Jon Swift? Definitely a talent, but much to learn...

Add Ward to that too Batch, can't imagine Crawley were paying 100% of his wages.

I suspect the reason QPR will have won out, will be more to do with the structure of the deal than price paid. i.e. more cash up front for us to buy other players! Great move for all concerned.

Yes, I was surprised at the idea of them going to Villa. I wonder if Sherwood's done Power a bit of a favour there by agreeing to act as a stalking horse to set a benchmark for the price?
