sturrock performs to the level he can,he cant do any better.paynters form is more worrying as he is not at the level he should be.he doesn't look like scoring at present

How did he miss that chance at the start of the second half though from about 2 yards out, most people were already celebrating.

I didn't boo him or anything like that but lets be honest he's not good enough and anyone of us would have been able to finish the chance he scored from today. We just aren't good enough up front and obviously it aint Sturrocks fault as he does his best but running around alot but that isn't the prerequisite to being a good striker.

he struck it well enough but there were bodies everywhere and it got blocked. not so much a miss as misfortune.

our fans are cunts

For a big bloke he seems to win nothing in the air. He was lucky with his goals when he first came to the cub and has given me no real indication that he can cut it at this level.

only the goal when the defender and keep ran into each other you can count as lucky, the rest still needed some work done before they went in. i think he's just low on confidence, and as soon as he gets one a few more will follow

In the same game (?) he also picked up a cross field pass from the defender and left him one on one, good finish though. I just think that our second set of strikers are poor and Sturrock just went for numbers when he signed them.

the one i'm on about happened in teh bornmouth game, the one you mention happeened in the gillingham game. And as you said, it was a good finish. Southend, hull and port vale fans all have good memories of paynter, so he must have something about him
