To be honest must say that Nigel Bennett is an absolute spoon, saying that Mike Wilks doesnt represent a large part of the fan base he is talking absolute bull and will get a wake up call the large majority of fans are right behind the consortium, perhaps he should realise as chairman of supporters club that he bairly represents any supporters and that the minimum share his views he should practically live in Newbury. So hypocritical of him to say lets not divide the crowd what is he attempting to do by condemning the revolution?? exactly hes trying to get more people not too. Mr Bennett I consider myself a true fan and I can assure you I will be wearing Orange because I want a future for this club, bring on the Orange Revolution I really hope its a sea of orange so that before you start speaking on behalf of fans you think a little first, rant over! Bring on the Orange Revolution

Nigel's not the SC chairman, he's their press officer. Personally, I've got a lot of time for Nigel, who works tremendously hard to raise funds for the Centre of Excellence etc but on this, sadly, I suspect he's badly out of step not only with the fanbase as a whole, but with most SC members. Ho hum, onwards and upwards. Viva!

I think you could fit those who don't in a corner of the Stratton Bank, macca, we'll need the Nationwide for the majority who do.

Yes good shout I shall certainly be in the arkells, reckon the support for the current board though you should be in the stratton bank for 2 reasons 1 its smaller so should fit all of them and 2 they should be made to freeze there asses off for backing such a crooked bunch of greedy cunts!!
The actual quote from Nigel Bennett was 'with the prospect of the local derby tomorrow I cant believe any true fan of the team would want to wear any symbolic colour other than our traditional home colours of red and white. "what is more the campaign is backed by Mr Wilks who recently claimed 99.9% of fans wanted change, which in pure numbers means that just five people out of the last home crowd did not share that opinion. "that is clearly nonsense and with Paul Sturrock who recently presided over one of the best performance in years calling for the retention of status quo it is unhelpful when certain groups try and divide the fans and spread the gospel of mistrust. "I hope all fans get behind the team tomorrow and show there true allegience to the badge of Swindon Town and hopefully roar them onto three points".
Ironic that he says true couple of times in there whilst backing the current board, does Bob Holt write his statements now.

How sickening sweet
"show their true alliegience to the badge of Swindon Town and hopefully roar them on..." he just needs a "yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaahhh" and a high five at the end there and we'd we well away.

Personally, Nigel Bennett should be SACKED....end of.
He seemingly has his own agenda, as proved by his comments regarding BP letter signed by the Personal Banker of Lloyds of Mayfair.
He is now the unofficial club spokesman, and for that the SC should get rid of him.

Thought the SC was supposed to be non-political? So is this a personal comment from Bennett or an official SC statement?
Either way it is a shame to have the SC get involved and risk alienation by some fans, this would be detrimental to the undoubted good work the SC do.
Mr Bennett, I know you read this forum. How dare you imply I am not a true fan for wearing Orange. You are an intelligent person but that is a stupid thing to say.

and what's to stop me wearing both Orange and Red? why would wearing orange impact on my vocal support of the team on the day, unless the colour has magical powers that prevent use of voice and nobody has told me.

Seems with Mr Bennetts comments that the current board have suceeded in turning fans against each other - and Im losing patience with fans who are backing the current regime by doing nothing - a laissez faire attitude will lose us our football club Mr Bennett.
- Also TBH if Mr Bennett is saying people who wear orange arent true fans then quite frankly he is totally wrong - how can someone reperenting the supporters club even suggest this!
- I am wearing Orange AND RED anyway! Power 2 to the People Comrades!
