I'm not very happy with the "true supporters" dig either to be honest.

But that's life.

in fairness though, he's entitled to his own opinion, and if he disagrees with the orange revolution then that's up to him. the challenge is to win these people over.

nigel bennett makes some valid points.
also just because his opinion differs to most on here doesn't mean he deserves some of the bile written in this thread about him.

Theres no bile on this thread..this is a worrying development and possibly more damaging than the Sturrock comments.

are all fans behind the orange campaign?
has sturrock came out and critised the take over talk?
is there tension between supporters and the board?
alot of what bennett said i disagree with, but some of his points are valid.
fans need to unite fully one way or the other,or large numbers are needed to have an effect.i'm all for the orange protest but can see why others ie bennett are not

The whole point of the orange reveolution is so it does not detract from the performances on the pitch or distract the team. Would he rather we had sack the board chants which would distract the players?

are all fans behind the orange campaign? vast majority of fans who know about it are behind it, the popularity of the campaign will grow in the coming home matches.
has sturrock came out and critised the take over talk? sturrock publicly came out yesterday and said that he would prefer stability, fans have not criticised him for this they are merely disappointed that he chose to comment on the situation.
is there tension between supporters and the board? I think it is obvious there is tension and its only get worse.

I dont feel Mr Bennett made any valid points he felt he could speak on behalf of all true fans but just made himself look a mug, personally I know a large number of Swindon fans and not one shares his so called view, he might as well have a seat on the board.

I think Mr Bennett has just done more to split the fans than anybody else so far.

Seething about what he's said - there is no split, or at least wasn't until he claimed that there was! Everybody is united behind the team, just not the board. The anti-board feeling does NOT detract from the players - he's perfectly free to make his points, but not as to whether I am a true fan or not. That is bloody insulting and plain ignorant.

And no matter what his opinion is, if thats the one he's choosing to take then he is burying hs head a good few hundred yards below the sand.

Fool.

The quote was 'with the prospect of the local derby tomorrow. I can't believe that any true fan of the team would want to wear any symbolic colour other than our traditional home colours of red and white'

For starters, I dont think wearing red makes you any more of a fan than someone who doesnt wear colours.

There are plenty of people who turn up to all the games and probably dont own a Swindon shirt.

Secondly, I cant believe that any true fan of the FOOTBALL CLUB can would want to support this current board after 5 years of moving backwards both on and off the pitch, having still not paid all the bills. Having got no where with the stadium and lieing to the share holders....

...but each to their own.

I dont know if its Nigel personally or the supporters club but their fence sitting is a bit annoying. They dont really want to say anything about anything ever

His other quote

'I hope all fans get behind the team tomorrow and show their true allegiance to the badge of Swindon Town and hopefully roar them onto victory'

well what else are we going to do?
