No it doesn't.
Ling isn't being talked up because "he's good in the lower leagues".
I know he's been there and done that, but that's a bonus.
I know I want a lot but I'm just sick of us being a piddling lower league team. That's what we were when I started watching us and it's just as shit now. So why is Ling being talked up? There was me thinking it was because he had done well in the 2 bottom divisions and used to play for us?

He'd bring that mug Adrian Twitbread with him-one of the worst players ever to don the famous red shirt!

One I've always liked the idea of, and thjis is a bit from the leftfield, is Alex Inglethorpe. Ex-Exeter manager - now at Spurs. Spurs have been filtering him through the levels after taking him from Exeter having seen how competent he was there - young and articulate and clearly well-respected by those in the know...like Damien Comolli. With Ramos there now and a new structure in place, he might have one eye on getting a job of his own after all. Worth a phone call. A old friend of mine is use to play football with him (before he went to Watford) and says he's a top bloke. Whenever they meet Alex always spends the time speaking about what my mate's up too, rather than about his exploits in football. Has sod all to do with anything, but I did chant 'Fetcham reject' at him when Orient played Kingstonian in the cup...and 'Swindon reject' at Ling, he looked at me and smiled, so I smiled back. Was bloody hungover that day. I am beginning to think this post is a little irrelevant...

From my occasional Exeter watching (wasn't as often as it could have been), I think I remember Inglethorpe getting Exeter to play some pretty good football for a conference side. Even if it was as the cost of them not doing slightly better in the league.
There's a good chance I'm remembering wrong though. I wasn't watching much football at the time and to be honest I spent a good few years pretty pissed.
Wouldn't say no to Inglethorpe, doesn't seem likely though.
I wonder what Steve Flack is up to, we could always offer him his first managerial position.

Looks like hes decided to make it well known hes after the post then! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/swindon_town/7120718.stmAllen to apply for Swindon post Allen has been out of work since being sacked by Leicester. Former Leicester City manager Martin Allen has declared his interest in becoming Swindon Town's new manager after Paul Sturrock's departure. Allen, 42, said he will "be applying for the job" and believes he can take the Robins into the Championship.
"It's definitely a job I'm interested in," Allen told the Wiltshire Gazette and Herald.
"They are three points off the play-offs with a game in hand and I want to manage in the Championship."
Allen added: "It's been done before at Swindon and who's to say it can't be done again?"
He has been out of work since August when he left Leicester after only three months in charge.
Before that he guided Franchise into the play-offs in his first and only season in charge of the League Two club.
Despite working with a limited budget at Brentford he twice reached the League One play-offs and the former West Ham midfielder believes he can do a similar job at the County Ground.
"Once you've worked at Brentford under tight financial constraints like I did, you learn to get used to it.
"Which football clubs haven't got financial problems? That's life."
Sturrock was appointed as the new Plymouth boss earlier this week, a club he left in 2004 to take over at Southampton.
Ex-Burnley manager Steve Cotterill has also been linked with the job but has refused to comment on any speculation.
