I think people have lost interest with gibbering on the internet generally - all the forums I frequent seem to be deathly quiet at the moment?
How I wish that were true... No

Am kind of surprised how little speculation and gossip there is on this site regarding this subject.
Has everyone lost interest?

Not really, I think its a combination of having only just gone through it, thinking its Williams whatever, and knowing its pointless speculating on who we'd want as manager as we are unlikely to get an experienced man (OK, yes, Ling was.  I think the circumstances meant he realised he wasn't going to get loads of offers).

Dave Hockaday 'parts company' with Kiddy Harriers... wouldn't be surprised at all to see him rock up at SN1 again.

No cost and a patchy managerial record, he looks tailor made to join our ex-player failure list.

I'm not sure Power could even find the words to justify appointing a man leaving the foot of the Conference for a supposedly progressive club two leagues above.

He doesn't need to find the words, just someone who's cheap, available and like the last 2 managers desperate to get another managers job.

I genuinely think that Mark Robbins could do a job for us. Did well at Coventry and Rotherham from what I can remember.

At risk of being leapt upon if it's already been answered, does anyone know why it's taking so long to appoint a manager?
Is it unreasonable to think this should have been sorted out by now ?

Especially given the fact that Power has a day-to-day guy now and I'm fairly sure he said this process wouldn't take long (latter point I might have imagined)

Can't say I'm fussed anymore. I can imagine the conversations Power is having:

Hi, Lee Power here. Would you like to be our manager?

Tell me all about it Lee. What's the set up? What would my role be?

Post match interviews mainly. We don't allow any during the week.

And transfers?

No.

Tactics?

No.

Training?

No.

Can I go to training?

You can watch Luke, sure.

But I'm the one who gets canned if it goes wrong?

Yep."

Heck, I might apply.
