My best wishes to Ling, but we need another of these threads now.

Which realistic targets are available?

Expect us to do a Chelsea now and maybe put Williams in the hot seat until the end of the season.

It's a shit time for a new manager to come in and wouldn't be surprised if someone just got the job until May.

Why is it a bad time? They've finished Christmas with their families and at Swindon they won't deal with the training ground or transfers (probably).

Perfect time.

A perfect time is June, not in January with less than a month for the window to shut (by the time this settles down) and a team just starting to come together but still only 5 points off relegation.

Lots of decisions to be made in the next 4 weeks which is why I can see Williams getting it until the end of the season, some stability.

Don't want Williams as we will be stuck with even more slow, sideways and back passing.
That was something Lingy was trying (allegedly) to eradicate.

Well this was my take....after Fleetwood.

Let's just imagine that Lingy gets the Christmas period and perhaps a couple of weeks into Jan, which may include a blank weekend due to 3rd round FA cup. That would take us to about 24 games gone, 22 to go.  Tax year starts April 1st, so roughly 13 games of the old tax year and 9 of the new. Power may well have that in his allowance....comes in for match days, Williams and Embleton do the daily work of training etc.  Power does recruitment anyway, through agents.

So 24 games gone as predicted....the only fly in this ointment seem to be the fella who's come in to do the stuff because Power doesn't have the time. Apart from this, haven't got a clue.

Nothing surprises me with STFC. Just worked out that since I've been going in the Hoddle era we've had 17 different permanent managers and 7 or 8 caretakers.

It won't be Power. It's also very doubtful to be Williams, considering he wasn't willing to even be caretaker when Cooper left.
