Or maybe it was that Power knew wins were unlikely, given the injury crisis we were experiencing, and decided that he didn't want Williams in the firing line?
That's basically what Power says at the end of the article. A pretty sensible approach really and is this sort of thing that does give me some faith in Power.

Yep looks pretty certain. I'm unsure how I feel about it, but at least I don't get an impending sense of doom Paul Hart style.
I'll let you know how I feel if the defence goes back to being a 2 goal a game sieve and we play one up front.

hopefully he's learnt something from Ling

Maybe Williams never wanted to play one up-front to begin with, why do people assume it was his decision when he's never even been the manager?

Wasn't it largely as the strikers (bar Ajose) were injured?

So now power, whom actually was the 'manager' at that time when we 'continued with it', did not pick the team at all? It was Williams picking the team all the time, even though though Power was picking the team. Or maybe Power has been picking the starting XI all along until it comes to the time that he actually 'manages' the team, at which point he hands such decisions over to Williams? Just for shits and giggles, perhaps.

Not directed at you personally, Batch!.

Don't mind if it is:)

Thought the consensus amongst local Jurnos was that Power dictated style, and Williams implemented it. Seems to me (based off inference from a few quotes at the time) Cooper changed that and got more involved then paid the price.

Manager = speaks to press where Power was concerned.

Either way, the point was I hope we don't revert to 1 up top under Williams. I doubt we will.

Yeah, "Passing football". I've not seen anywhere asides from unfounded rumour that the formation is dictated by Power, or that Williams insists on 1 up front. Ling played 2 up front and Cooper did also for much of last season.

But yeah, let's hope we don't go 1 up front again, although somebody that isn't Cooper might be able to make it work.

Power:

"so these are all the various players I’ll be speaking to Luke (Williams) and the new guy about"

So an external appointment seems likely. It's either that or he can't remember Embleton's name.
