I understand that Shrewsbury's recent form has improved following the dismissal of the hugely talented Sam Ricketts. However, I have a (possibly irrational) good feeling about the prospects of a second win on the bounce.

Great win in isolation. Next three are Shrews H, Pompey A, Gas A. Thing now is that every game is a must win or at least not lose.

Probably not worth it. It was a foul, and he was the last man, even if the whole thing was slow-motion powder-puff. Hodgetts and Hawes seemed to think he'd only get a one-game ban due to lack of malice, even though it was a straight red.
Professional foul is a one game ban I thought? Red was harsh I thought. I'd appeal it

Is the Conroy red worth an appeal? Not seen it back again, but looked as if the linesman gave the foul and not the ref who may have been a lot closer.
I’d appeal it

I’m ashamed how much a scraped win against Wigan changes my STFC outlook...

The trouble is, all we ever want is the team to win, so when they do, you forget all the other bullshit around the club for a bit.

Should be only one game. I didn’t think it was a Red.

I thought Conroy had his shirt pulled by Keane earlier in the build up as he was running towards our goal, so I was expecting a free kick to us. Also the “last man” argument is a fallacy - the law talks about denial of a clear goal scoring opportunity- and the payer was going away from goal at the point of the foul. Ref was poor all night Payne’s card for the wind blowing the ball outside the corner quadrant was ridiculous too. The players dug in and deserved a win - Wigan were very poor. The game was awful though, in poor conditions to be fair. After our recent run it’s amazing a single win takes us out of the bottom 4 - shows other sides are as poor as us. Is this more of the hope that kills us?

Come away from all those with wins and I might feel better. Put in performances like tonight's and only get 1 or 2 points and writing will be on the wall.

I gather Odimayo has been training better than Curran this week?

feeling very flat for a win tonight. I guess the court case being set for a year away has taken the wind from my sails.
That said, if probably feel worse if we'd lost.
can't fault the effort, and the conditions/pitch were poor which didn't help quality. but we did what we had to. 3 points..

It would be interesting to know how the idea that a trial was happening this week gained traction. Presumably, this came from someone considered to be ITK?

yeah there were a few days that thought it would be today. nobody seemed sure.
I didn't think it would take a year to come to court tbh.
I guess the covid backlog hasn't helped

Feel very similar oh Batchy one. I'm glad Town won but I'm very flat about it. I think you're right, the hearing and possibly no resolution of the club until at least a year away.
It's imperative that Town stay up for the longer term future of the club existing. I think JS will be gone end of season regardless of outcome. It's down to the players now, those that are here to the end of season, to knuckle down and fight their way out of this. The fight seems to be there but I think they are going to have to direct this largely themselves and largely on the pitch.
A long and bumpy ride to go, we've all been here before but we never truly learn I guess. Especially when your support is largely unconditional. Let's not hope that it's the hope that ends up getting us...
:sigh: :breathe: :meh:

Go to the thread marked "Court Cases". Not the most recent one titled "Court Case" but the plural. There are fifty pages worth to mull over. I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for; considering you do appear to be a man of meticulous merit.
