When we come to look back on this season, I'm sure there'll be an element of how could we have been so shit with a potent goalscorer in the side...but it is often the case that sides who challenge at the top share the goals around a bit more.

We need to maximise the funds for Cox and hope that Wilson can spot a decent replacement, and maybe strengthen another couple of areas, with effective players rather than dross.

We've scored 60 in the league, pretty well spread I'd say.

Scorings not been the problem.......

It's kind of my point...we can sacrifice Cox, use some of the funds to strengthen elsewhere so that we become a more complete side..in 06/07 our last decent season, our leading scorers were Roberts and Peacock with 10 apiece. Paynter has shown he's  good for 10...

They did a bit on him in Big league Weekend 1 on Sky sports in which they showed the chip against Scunthorpe!

"Even the Swindon fans are saying he's too good for them"  Prick!

It might be true, but you don't need to spout it on Sky Sports!

Let's hope it's Newcastle then...it'll mean they've been relegated, and they usually pay way over the odds for players.

NEWCASTLE and West Brom are battling to sign £1million-rated Swindon striker Simon Cox.

Toon coach Colin Calderwood and Baggies assistant boss Mark Venus watched Cox bag his third hat-trick of the season during Swindon's 4-3 victory at Northampton on Tuesday.

Swindon boss Danny Wilson said: "I can see players in the Premier League at this time who have had a good career at that level but are not as good as Simon.

"There is no reason why Simon cannot step up. But it will take one hell of an offer to attract us."

Surely Cox in that kind of market, with bigger clubs than Bristol City looking at him. that and he's younger??

Should we sell Cox for £2m? Difficult to say no, but if Fitton did, I can't think of a bigger statement of intnet than that. All purely hypothetical of course  Cheesy

If we could get 2 million for him and the board gave DW a large portion of it to rebuild in the summer, I think we'd be stupid not to.
