Blokes who get a bit feisty after a few beers, then swear in front of their wife and kids, like they're having a pop st a doorman. Twats.

Locals that take the time to stop and stare when a stranger wanders into their pub.
I won't bite. Honest.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change? Crap!

Remember going into a pub near Sandwell and Dudley train station and it felt like the darts stopped in the air.

Five of us went into the home pub at Ashton Gate before the game in 91 when we dicked em 4-0. They stopped playing pool to gawk. Didn't help when I asked where the bogs were

I went for a drink with friends in Highworth one night and had people outside a pub looking in at me through the window. In another place, on the same night, the landlord/barman said "I'm keeping an eye on you" as soon as I set foot inside the place.
Twas an odd night, Highworth has a touch of Royston Vasey about it.

Went to golddiggers about 25 years ago and the doorman warned my mate before we'd even got in. He did have a look about him They used to ask where you came from, say Calne and you would more than likely be refused entry. I used to say Derry Hill

I don't remember what they were called but, looking on Google images, the first one could well have been The Globe. The one with the unfriendly barman was some wanky wine-bar type place.

It is called a saloon welcome. Woe betide you for sitting in a locals chair, never mind the fact the local is not there.
