Adams was a unique case. He was out of contract at the end of the season and his renewal was rejected by the league/FA, so he was out of contract, rather than his contract was canceled.

Carlisle fans seem to want him back, though.

Thing is, Rotherham were in the Championship when their fans thought he was shit, we are in the same league at Crewe when we are telling them Lancashire is crap.

I agree. I’d imagine shining in a poor Rotherham side in the Championship would be difficult for a young player.

Championship is a totally different beast compared to Leagues 1 and 2. Don't think it's be fair to judge him on that.

Carlisle also feature so I’m putting 2 and 2 together and saying it’s about Devitt.

Devit was supposedly done days ago.

I'm wondering if the reason we've not heard anything about that is the same reason Adam May has not been oficially announced.

I’ll guess it’s Devitt to us, Yates to Carlisle.

Apparently, he has a year left and Carlisle have offered cash, we only want a loan.

Problem is that Carlisle are only offering 1 year deals to everybody.

Where has the Devitt rumour come from?

All I have found on him since the end of the season is that Hibs were leading the race to sign him. That article didn't even mention us at all.

Say some L1 clubs after him too.

This from the Carlisle end

‘Richie Wellens didn't bother to go in for him earlier as he thought Carlisle would offer a certain length and wage amount, which Swindon could beat, but the difference between the amounts he did not think Devitt would move down there for the sake of couple hundred quid. Now the contract offer is out there in the "football world" from Carlisle, the wages at Swindon in comparison are excellent, and the contract length more.’

Devitt has rejected their new contract and is ‘heading south’ - although anywhere in England is south of Carlisle. According to them we also wanted to sign him in the Jan window.

There was this a few days ago (for what it’s worth):
