Well I'm glad I went to that one !
Booked today off work which was wise considering we didn't get home till 12:45 am.
Thought Benson was superb last night. Worked his ass off and seemed to win everything in the air when balls were played forward to him.
McCormack looks like he's been a centre back all his life. Cleans up nicely and covered Devera virtually everytime.
Gotta say i'm very impressed with Rooney. He caused all sorts of problems for their right back.
Oh and a special mention to Liam Dickinson. This guy doesn't even look like a footballer. He has the touch of a rapist and why Southend fans rate him I don't know.
Anyone else think Timlin should have been sent off ? The ref bottled it.

Fantastic performance. Benson was superb- exactly what we have been looking for. As good as we were with the ball, the thing that impressed me most was our work ethic off the ball. The only time we sat off them was the period when they scored. Special mention from me to the fella that gave me his spare ticket and wouldn't take any money for it. He had 'Kent Red' on the back of his shirt so if you know him, or it's one of you, a huge thanks again. A true gent.

Still grinning like a loon this morning, and I only listened on the radio.
I wonder what any ex players who may or may not have been at the ground to watch Timlin thought of our performance last night?

Speaking of Timlin, although he put in a couple of dodgy challenges during the game and clearly wanted to prove a point against us, fair play to him for coming over to clap the Town fans at the end of the game.

I don't think we will act too quickly, and it will be dependent on other players going out on loan first.

Played pretty well, made some good tackles. Only one poor pass that I can remember. Even got a chant from the fans as he went off.

The man also seems to be a magnet for bad tackles and clashes of heads, I'm not quite sure whether he just makes the most of things or he attracts them yet. The other thing I noticed about Risser last night is that the moment the first goal went in, he didn't charge off celebrating and went straight over to PDC for instructions. I suspect that may be part of the reason PDC likes him.

On Betfair we are now marginal favourites over Crawley (We are 2.92, they are 3). With the bookies (in this case Will Hill) Crawley - 5/4 Swindon - 15/8 Shrews/Southend - 7/1 Cheltenham - 8/1 Torquay - 33/1
