I was genuinely concerned that we were arranging this 3 days after the cup game whereas Sarfend had had 10 days off.
Obviously no need to worry - the squad seem super fit and with the scope for some rotation we're well placed for the rest of the season.  Brilliant!

Anything of note?

He is talking about how much the team "believes".

He's very low key actually. Just told them keep going, don't switch off. But he's not going nuts and thought he might be.

We've won our last 5 league games. I think I need to lie down in a darkened room.

On Ritchie,

I love Paolo.

A well deserved 4-1 in truth we could have had more. "We are Paolo's red and white army "

Paolo:
- Best performance of season because of recovery from energy drain following effort against Leicester
- Worked hard off ball
- Players have belief at the moment and are very together
- Fans were amazing
- V important victory taking points off team at the top
- Victory dedicated to him Mum
- Changed tactics tonight and told players to start quick rather than keep it tight. Paolo wanted to take risk based upon Southend's team make up. Wanted to stretch game.
- Deserved to win probably 6-1 vice 4-1
- Sends a message to other teams
- Memorable 1st goal for Swindon.
- Bodin played his part.
- Talked to 3 players who were watching in the stands that their time will come. If they work hard they will get their chance. Talked about J Smith maybe being surprised that he was playing. Was left out because of not doing what Paolo wanted. Has worked hard and listened in training, hence getting his chance
Transfer deadline day:
- Talked about the fact he wanted Ritchie to stay no matter what
- Would have liked to have had another striker as another option, but doesn't 'need' it and is happy that he has enough to take the Town up
