I know he's gone and its history but I cant stand by and watch history being re-written like this.Only ONE of Fallons goals this season came from  so-called "hoofball".Check 'em out;6 from crosses(Bournemouth,Hart,Roth,Colch,MKD,Brad)4 from superb build-up play from midfield(Shitty,P Vale,Forest,Yeovil)1 superb individual skill(Bradford )1 pen   and 1 "hoofer" against Southend(didn't see the Stevenage one). Now its academic but lets give the guy a bit of credit-there's no way that anyone can say Peacock is an improvement YET.Fallon and Curo only started together 7 times and scored 4 between them in those games.I remember Curo setting up Fallon v Forest and they didn't look bad together at Gills or Bournemouth at home.

The fact of the matter is that despite his height Fallon never was great in the air.  To be fair to the lad whenever he played it was the other players who loved to knock it long to him.  Unfortunatly Rory didn't have the touch or the skill of Lee Peacock to get the ball down and connect with other attacking players.

Peacock likes to get the ball down, Curo likes the ball at his feet and we're reaping the rewards.

Thanks for the 14 goals Rory but we're a better team without you.  And even DV85 can't deny that.

i think the run we're on, and the fact we're finally out of the relegation places proves jan's point perfectly.
the problem with hoofball is that ironically it puts the defence under more pressure because possession is given away and the oppo can get another attack going straight away.
lets not be stupid and say we're playing total football, but the ball does seem to stick up top more since fallon's gone.
i dont really want to say im glad he's gone, but all i want is a winning side, regardless of players and the fact is we have won 3 games in the two weeks rory has been in wales.

The good run started back in November, whilst we still had Fallon, in fact I would go as far to say he was instrumental in the good run. He won headers, held up the ball, scored goals and carried a shite team on his shoulders for much of the season.

The difference now is that we have quite a few players making a difference; cureton, shakes, brown, smith, ifil, peacock Nicho etc. I don't think the arrival of Peacock and the departure of Fallon has been the key element of the teams improvement. I think there has been a general continual improvement since iffy took over as manager with and without Fallon.

Still £300k is a lot of money and Peacock is a good player (if not a goalscorer like Fallon is/was).

Please check Fallon's goals out-11 of'em were as a resultof crosses or gradual build-up play through the midfield.Peacock could prove to be a good replacement but we'll have to see imo.Fallon was equally good in the air and as able to hold the ball up as Peacock.Cookie's right.

Anyone who says Fallon 'held up the ball' is frankly a spastic.

He was like Bambi on ice but with less poise.

Yes well said that man, the ball used to just hit him and he tried his best to keep it somewhere near him.

Fallon was shit in the air.  The amount of times he misjudged the flight of the ball and it would sail over his head amazed me.

Just when I thought the subject of Fallon was closed......

Yeah, yhey were shit headers against Bournemouth,Colchester,MKD,Bradford and Hartlepool. The goal v'Pool disproves both the "cant hold the ball up" and "shit in the air"theories.
