I'd like Sir Bobby to get it again, but he wouldn't be interested

I'd agree with what you've said Foggy Smiley its also why i think Sven has been able to keep the job for so long, there is no obvious replacement.

I think it unfortunate the NOTW have potentially scuppered Englands chances by revealing all this so close to the world cup. The UK tabloids seem to want us to fail by revealing thing "in the interests of the public".

Incidently I think Swen should have gone after the World Cup. But that discussion/revalation should have been made after the tournament.

Replacements. Couldn't care less if they are English or not, as long as they are the best men for the job. But we will get saddled with Alerdyce or McClaren won't we?

No surprise that Sven is going after the world cup. To be fair he's not done a bad job although nothing amazing, still time though but someone else deserves a chance.

Allardyce has to be favourite, knows his stuff and has done very well.

Personally my first choice would be Mourinho though but can't see the FA paying more than Chelsea.

Benitez wouldn't be a bad choice.

please god, not fat sam as England manager.

It will be like real life Mike Bassett

He'd probablly drop Owen for Kevin Davies

I'd rather have another foreigner than any of the english managers mentioned. The only English manager I really have any respect for is Pearce, and its far too early in his managerial creer to be giving him the England job.

Big Phil Scolari would be my choice. I'm not sure what is English is like though.

its a real hard one
stuart pearce will surely manage england someday, but after the world cup is too early i would say (maybe not) if the FA were to employ him i'd probably have an 'advisor' or some sort of double act for the time being, perhaps team him with bob rob or el tel.

in saying that, even though how much i despise the idea, another foreign coach looks like the most suitable idea. mourinho? perhaps but it seems like his success comes with the ability to have unique training ground and lifestyle methods for his players, which he couldnt do as england manager.

carlos alberto perreira i recon, he's won a world cup already and will probably do so again in t'summer. if he does then why would he want to stay on?

Big Gus Hiddink looks favourite but a hell of a lot will happen in the space of the next few months that'll probably turn it all on its head.

You look at the usual suspects and there's more inspiration in a ham and cheese baguette.  If O'Neil isn't given the job I'd bet my mortgage on it being another interim foreigner with the pretence that he's going to groom Pearce or whoever else is flavour of the month.

I'd rather they gave the job to Maradonna than Bryan Robson, Curbishley, or Steve McLaren.
