Chris Sutton. As in Chelsea paid £10mil for him to score 2 goals, Chris Sutton?? Madness.
I'd swap Nolan for Carrick, lose Sutton for Crouch, Vassell out for Bent, Young for Taylor, and i'd pick Gareth Barry ahead of Thompson.

Carrick is a good shout for the squad NO WAY Crouch tho Bent or Vassell - interesting call to make NO WAY Taylor over Young every time Barry over Thompson tho - maybe u are right there BUT - Chris Sutton is a much more experienced player and I think would be a useful surprise to have on the bench |

Basically that is well wide of the mark fats.
You've not even got Richardson there, plus we'll take 5 strikers, Green will go instead of Martyn, Alan Thompson has no chance, I expect Bridge will go.
You've forgotten John Terry - Englands first choice CB!
Scott Parker has more chance than Nolan, Sheringham is a complete no go, Smith will probably go, as will Dyer if fit.

Why was Alan Smith in the squad. He's no longer a striker and has a handful of matches for Man Utd in a new position, yet gets in ahead of Carrick, Parker etc (Although am I right that at least one of these two is injured?). Also Smith's international career hasn't exactly been illustrious, to sya the least, typical big club bias methinks, poor old Danny Murphy has been so much better than Smith.

I don't think Smith should go, but he will, I'm with you re. Jenas. Dyer, when fit, I like, he's dangerous and a sensible replacement for Rooney when he is inevitably suspended - IMO.

KT - this was my squad not the one I expect Sven to pick ... its nice to see we have a bit of choice tho .. even if Sven does like crap like Alan Smith, Jenas and Hargreaves!

I'm not so sure there'll be a place for P Neville - Carragher, Young and King can all do his jobs (better) and will definately go - we'll take an extra striker.
