Also good depth to this squad. Every game we can make 5 changes and not get significantly worse. It hasn't been like that for years

Phew! Good job Oldham were poor when they had the ball.

Oldham will achieve improved results through their traditional League Two personnel and tactics, especially when the pitches start to degrade.

Performances haven’t been brilliant yet we’re here with 2 wins out of 3 in the league which is very encouraging. We were excellent for the first half hour and looked a class above Oldham. Sadly, as is typical with Swindon sides, we concede a poor set piece (which I think Ripley should deal with better) but rode it out well in the end. Good to get off the mark away from home early as well, think it took us a while to win away last season

A win is a win and 6 from 9 points is a good league start.

Sort of ..

It doesn't feel like we have control of games for large periods, and I worry this will come back and bite us in the long run.

But that's another days problem.

A great opening 20 and should have been out of sight by half time. Second half less good but they didn't really worry us until very late on. And they nearly grabbed the undeserved equaliser.

Bristol Rovers 0 wins from 3 games (0 wins in 4 in total) and -4 goal difference.

You gotta laugh.

Still all over the place as to how we play and our formation is causing us problems more so than the opposition. Still very early days and we are off to a useful start and can build on it I trust.

Probably but throwing a player into the advertising boards for no reason is just asking for trouble, only requires one jobsworth to take a dim view of it.

I mean - yeah he could have just stood too close & obstructed the player.
Ref would have then come over to have a word with him. Same effect & slightly more subtle and less aggressive…

2 league games in a row we've held on and done it pretty well. That'll build confidence - we saw some real signs in the first half that there's a good football team there. Just need the consistency across 90 mins. Delighted with the 3 points!
I sometimes think people expect too much. We were brilliant for the first 30 minutes. Not even the best teams, especially in the 4th division, can sustain the same intensity for 90. We did enough. And when we play well we look impressively good.

I liked what I saw attacking wise.

It’s difficult keeping sustained pressure for 90 minutes especially when we don’t have one set style. I think if smith had put his chance away then we wouldn’t be speaking so much about composure and nerves. We got the three points which is what matters most and we can make strives from there

Enjoy the wins. They’ll come in all shapes and sizes. I couldn’t watch all of it today, but what I saw was perfectly good enough. I missed the goals and both were taken well. Come on you Reds!

You need these sort of wins to boost confidence we can grind out a win. Having option of smith into defence is nice to have in these games. Should have been more TBH, but win is a win and team seems to be looking better going forward when not hoofing ball everytime. First 30 min I thought we played very well.

Holloway:
- Relieved that Ripley and Smith managed to play. All of a sudden we have gone from having seniors everywhere to having youngsters
- Slightly inexperienced at times
- Started brilliantly, which makes a change.
- We got sloppy and let them off
- A pack of lions wouldnt let a wounded gazelle off. We did
- They are still used to winning. Mickey Mellon has got a winning mentality. They showed great character to come back
- We did it without Kilkenny and Clarkes running and tenacity
- Holloway isnt a tempered type of person. If he's not happy, hes not happy
- Wilson-Brown was throwing up at half time. Then all of a sudden he has to come off
- Expecting them to learn: Never step off
- Some people were slightly out of position
- Yesterday's trip up was horrendous. Took 7 hours. Now got a strange timed return
- Clarke has a swollen ankle. Rolled his ankle. Will be doubtful for Tuesday
- Kilkenny doesn't complain. It’s unusual for him to be out. Sore hip
- Snowden: Has a wonderful football intelligence. He's getting fitter all the time. Training with Bielsa has helped him. Really like his talent. He can do things up near the edge of the box. He's playing out of position. Delighted to have him
- If Bodin had scored and Smith had scored it would be better!
- Bodin should be a starter. But, he had to have an injection and missed a couple of weeks training. He's not fully fit
- SmithDanish bid: Who cares! Made it totally clear that Smith isn't going anywhere! Don't care what fans are saying. Need the people in Denmark to know he's not for sale, and he doesn't want to go there anyway! Holloway has had a chat with the Chairman. The money would only keep them going for a couple of months! Holloway wants promotion! If we get it then he'd give Smith abetter contract! Its still an absolute joke for how good Harry Smith is. Holloway believes hes getting better and better every day! So why on Earth would he want to leave Holloway now? He is easily good enough for Championship and that where Holloway wants to get with him! Holloway asked for thanks to the Chairman, as the support he's getting from Clem is outstanding!
