(that wasn’t to single you out PV - a lot of people questioned Kings marking just yours was a the first one I saw)
I havent rewatched the goal TBH but at the time King seemed to be running away from the player he was marking at the far post who went in to score.

King was way off the pace again yesterday and didnt suit the RB role at all IMO, not sure he is good enough TBH as he seems to struggle with the basics at times like tackling and passing to a team mate.

I was at Gillingham away when McGurk played his best game for us.

Gills fans around me delighted when he was subbed off.

Hes obviously pissed on some chips not to get a regular place.

Fresh start i hope he embraces.

Last night didnt matter BUT it did.....pleased with the result but a lot of players seem to play with new vigour.

Lets all hope it transfers to the League and get ourselves away from the abyss....

Yes, that’s exactly what he’s doing he’s running away from his player because he’s reacting to Delaney’s call for the defence to step up to play the Spurs strikers offside.

I’ve only watched the highlights & King might well have been atrocious for the rest of the game but don’t think he’s at fault for the goal because it’s McCormick who hasn’t stepped up with Delaney.

King wasn't hauled off at H.T., so this seems to be a correct interpretation, especially as king's positioning appeared to be entirely deliberate.

Don’t think much can be read into Delaney going off at HT. That was likely to manage minutes with Hall also only doing 45 minutes. Holloway said post match that Delaney, Hall and King were all only really capable of 45 mins (I think I heard correctly) but he asked King to do a bit extra and told Delaney and Hall they’re doing a half each.

A team we haven’t played in a league game since the 2017/18 season…

Away to Wycombe
Probably one of the worst draws we could have got, away at the L1 leaders and they have won 8 consectutive games!

No biggy anyway going out of this tournament!
