It seems that Kennedy has a clear idea as to how he wants to play which is a good thing. If he wants to play a ball playing deep lying midfielder with two number 8s I think we probably need 2 new central midfielders assuming Khan is off and Mitchell is considered a development player. Oboforh lacks the mobility to play as an effective number 8. If Clarke gets injured we will be in trouble. I think Cain could play the deep lying playmaker role if given the opportunity but he isn't a number 8. In short we really need at least one more number 8 before the transfer window ends.

This is one thing that does worry me - the midfield plan seems very specific, but we have 10 central midfielders and you'd argue that... maybe two of them suit that system?

Ofoborh - no
Joel Cotterill - maybe
Ollie Clarke - yes
Sean McGurk - seems unlikely
Jake Cain - maybe, but probably not
Tariq Uwakwe - who knows what he fits, but probably not
Anton Dworzak - maybe, but too early
Saidou Khan - on paper you think he'd be quite good as an 8, but they're trying to get rid of him
Jaxon Brown - maybe, but too early
Dylan Mitchell - maybe, but too early

It does look like the guy doing the recruitment and the guy doing the tactics aren't the same person here...

We don’t even have a Mark Sanchez…

A damn fine playoff record though!
