Have to say, I do like Paul Cook. I am also impressed with Kennedy so far to be fair. Just hope he doesn't get fcuked over by the ownership...

I’m not sure what went wrong after Ipswich and how he ended up in the National league.

Difficult not to like Paul Cook. Fair assessment of the game and no whining about the penalty that should have been given (although he got a yellow card for it at the time 🙂), just disappointed but accepts that refs have a difficult decision to make in the spur of the moment. Respect shown to Town for being well organised and difficult to beat.....I trust his judgement and after a shaky first half (where we didn't look bad defensively, even so), I thought we looked much better second half and can see us improving as the season goes on. We'll be fine. Especially if we can shift Khan out and replace him with a more creative player.

Definately this, other than the small lapse of communication between Bycroft and the defence for the goal (TBF he has done that a few times previously) I thought we defended much better than last season, looking like a defensive unit not a group of missfits cobbled together.

As for Khan, theres a player in there but he doesnt seem to want to be here and Kennedy does not seem to want him so the sooner we offload him and get a creator in midfield, or someone that can run with the ball then we will look much better offensively.

Start with Smith and Glatzel and get a playmaker in the middle and we have the basis of a half decent side that will only improve as they get to know each other, still very early doors for us as a team and mistakes will happen its how we bounce back that matters at this stage, which we did.

And we know what we're knowin'
But we can't say what we've seen
And we're not little children
And we know what we want
And the future is certain
Give us time to work it out

We certainly don’t look far off being competent.
Think going with Glatzel instead of Drinan with Smith & swapping Ofoborh / Cotterill round would do the trick.

Competent is a long way off being competitive though.

Honestly think that put a Kemp/Payne type player in this squad and it’s got the potential to be a play off team.

Without Khan we probably need another CM option too

Is it though? Once you get to competent you might only be a Kemp / Grant / Mooney / Moncur away from competitive...

I’ve got this strange suspicion that he might be from Liverpool. Can’t put my finger on why I get that impression.
