At a guess, are away goals used before it goes to alphabetical order?
I second this guess

It was a pretty awful for sure, just seemed a smidge early for the fatalistic writing off of a season ….but I guess after last season it is understandable
I'd anything last season should show it's a marathon, not a sprint and that the first month or two is not a useful period to judge a team.

The main positive for me was that Kennedy & Bignot were able to effect a better performance with tempo after the break, which hasn't always been the case with management in last couple of years.
Under cooked is a good description of where we are so it's likely to be a slowish start.
Hopefully Tuesday night will be taken seriously.
Good atmosphere in the away section & the point was well received at the end.

What pleased me most was the amount of last ditch tackles that our defenders put in. Sure, we got away with the Hall tackle in the first half, but at least we can see that our defenders actually want to defend.
It was also encouraging to see Will Wright's ability to deliver a dangerous long throw - have we had that capability in our team since Sean Morrison left us?

A few morning musings having had time to take in last night.
I'd like the option of a more experienced keeper. Byfield isn't bad, he is a good shot stopper and has good reflexes, but he was mainly at fault last night and he's quite timid at times. He should have grabbed that ball last night and dealt with the danger.
Defence looks pretty sound. We look much better at dealing with balls into the box. I personally thought Hall looked a little shaky at times but as with most of the team grew into the game. I liked the look of Longelo, if we can get 2 good wing backs our defence will be fine.
Further up the pitch was a bit of a mess to be honest. Ofoborh appeared to be the furthest forward which isn't his best attributes. To be fair he got better. Cotterill looked lost, he seemed to play as if he was in a Swansea under 23 side, he'll need more first team games to get up to speed. We were lacking some creativity, this will need to be addressed before the end of the transfer window. Drinan and Smith as a front pairing didn't work at all first half. Smith was moaning and waving his arms on 30 minutes during what was a very poor half for all. Second half, Smith improved drastically. Great in the air against Dunkley and Co and also showed ability to bring the ball down on his chest. He looks like he'll be a decent acquisition and will be an important player as we look to play a little more direct at times. Glatzel showed ability in patches, I think him and Smith up front would be better, with Drinan an option off the bench.
Finally Will Wright, take a bow son, chopping back on half way, driving forward and absolutely David Nareyesque into the top corner. Great way to equalise in front of the away fans.
Solid platform to build on, interesting we didn't get caught offside once, or get a corner. Almost forgot, Chesterfield should have had a penalty (how much does Hall look like Rylan Clarke! - this was mentioned before but I can't unsee that now) and Wright wad lucky not to get a second yellow. Plenty of sliding challenges for us, looks like we're going to struggle with suspensions a few times this season.

Readily admit that I didn’t watch the second half as intently as I did the first half but Smith just seemed to be on the floor most of the time the ball went near him.
Definitely think having Glatzel off Smith is the better option for 2 up.
Need to flip Cotterill & Ofoborh round though - just can’t see any upside to playing Cotterill deep & Ofoborh higher.

One thing to consider is that we picked up a point away to one of the favourites for the league. Yes it was shit at times, but that actually could be one of our hardest away fixtures all season. Let’s see how we perform against some of the real league 2 garbage.

It will be interesting to see what sort of barometer Chesterfield actually are in this division.
I’m not convinced (on very little obv) that they the champions elect people seem to think they are but time will tell…
Still a decent point mind you.

How great is it seeing STFC actually compete. Yes, possibly a wee bit fortunate at times. But fantastic to see. COYRS
