Very 'meh' about the new season. Will tune in tonight and going to the Walsall game next weekend but can't say I'm hugely excited about this season. Perhaps that will all change at 10pm tonight.
As for tonight, I've no idea really. 2-0 defeat.
I feel very similar to this too.

We'll either sneak a 1-0 win or lose 4-0
I'm kind of in the same boat, but don't think we will concede 4, I think it's likely to be one of these 1-0, 0-0, 0-1.

I've put in my first 10 predictions for the prediction league and they are all binary!

I know that the consensus is that we've not done enough in the transfer market and that may well prove to be true but they've certainly done enough for me, along with the change in management team to actually be looking forward to the start of the season. At the end of last season I absolutely could not see us finishing above 23rd this time round but I am now very confident we can exceed that by some margin.
The ownership is clearly not fit for purpose, nothing has changed there but with all of that said, I will be absolutely delighted with a 1-1
Come On You Mother Fucking Cunting Bastard Reds....
To coin an NFLism - I feel we’ve done enough on the defensive side of the ball but not enough on offence. I think how much better we do this year is going to massively depend on Kennedy vs Flynn & Gav - particularly in the game management aspect. We look more solid & robust. Hopefully this means we shouldn’t be as soft to play against. I also think Drinan, Smith & Glatzel can score goals but I just can’t see who is going to be person providing those assists from the midfield. We are very much imo relying on McGurk to fulfill his full potential right from the get go and at the very least turn into Dan Kemp! I think the main solace I can take is the robustness reminds me of Flitcrofts side (more so than anything else in recent years) and he did have that side around the play off even if awful to watch.

…also to add to that - injuries will be key again. Depth isn’t there.
If we don’t see much of Hall and Delaney then we will be in trouble.
Cynically; we came right out the blocks with our recruitment making a good start to just stop, stand still & let everyone else over take us.

Talking of injuries, Chesterfield seem to be missing quite a few (per Moonraker):
Chesterfield have three first-teamers definitely ruled out of the game – Paddy Madden (calf), Ryheem Sheckleford (hamstring) and Ash Palmer (knee) - while captain Jamie Grimes (thigh) is struggling.
Also per Moonraker, this stone cold gem:
"The Moonraker understands a review of last season’s performances identified Swindon had a large deficiency when it came to getting the ball into the box."
WE DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH BOX ENTRIES LADS

Must say i’m suprised Chesterfield are favourites to go up, personally don’t think their squad gets them near the auto’s.
Be a big wake up call if we take a pasting later then

I'm going, reasons are that I don't get to go to many and a mate who's second team is Chesterfield is also in the UK atm so he'll be going with some of his mates from home. We're also taking another mate to his first ever live game, he's a rugby lad but is keen for the social, what an introduction 😅

In all 51 games played against Chesterfield we have won 24 times, drawn 8 times and lost 19 times scoring 76 times and conceding 60 goals. Giving us a 47% win percentage.
In the 26 games played at Chesterfield we have won 9 times, drawn 4 times and lost 13 times scoring 36 times and conceding 39 goals. Giving us a 34% win percentage.
We haven't beaten Chesterfield in the last 4 meetings with 3 defeats and 1 draw, but prior to that we had won 4 in a row scoring 11 times and conceding just 1 goal.
The highest attendance in an away game at Chesterfield was 9,000 in 1958.
The highest win in a game there was a 4-0 win in 2015 with Ajose x2, L Thompson and Obika scoring.
The heaviest defeat in a game there was a 4-0 defeat in 2001.
Sam Parkin holds the Swindon record of most goals against Chesterfield with 4 goals, with Jimmy Kelly, Danny Invincible, Chris Kamara and Roy Carter all scoring 3 times.
Chesterfield have ex loanee Ollie Banks as their only ex Swindon player currently.
Swindon have Khan, King, Freckleton and the much loved Gunning all who played for Chesterfield.

I still remember the 5-0 at Gillingham in an early kick off put us bottom of the table, only to be undertaken by Norwich losing 7-1 to Colchester in the 3 o'clock kick off. Norwich pissed the league & we missed out on promotion thanks to "That Bobble" at Wembley

Norwich also instantly sacked their manager and hired the guy from Colchester! Probably an argument that it's the most consequential opening game of all time.
