I didn’t think they would want to use the newly laid pitch before the opening league game.
Exactly. Makes sense to to ruin an expensive investment. Though I doubt it'll go down well with all, and that'll annoy Delnumpti.

Was laughing that Eastleigh are expected to be next up

 Cheesy

I’m pretty sure we used to play FGR pre-season before they got into the football league but may be wrong.

Cheers, many years ago I think Bath City away was another one.

That was the one, when he came out to warm up we figured it was him, ginger hair & lilywhite legs.
He proceeded to score with both feet & a header & we thought “he will do for us”.

Despite taking a while to score his first (which I think the keeper dropped into his own net), he hardly stopped scoring after that.

I was at the FGR game too and thought we had something good on our hands as well. A truly great all round centre forward, very similar to Shearer in height and build, great in the air, shoot with both feet and could score long range goals too.

Would love another like him to sign for us.

I remember going there to watch our first pre season game under Dennis Wise
Reckon there was close to 2,500 of us.

Just trying to remember if we’ve ever played Gloucester City in a friendly match considering how local it is🤔
