Which phrase? The Beamish Line? Its the point in history where we finished with fewest points and our lowest league position (in the modern 4 division league system). The team was managed by Ken Beamish. To finish above the line = more points than the Beamish team, below = less points and hence a new line is set. We can now only finish below the line.
