I am probably in the minority, but i don't want Caddis appointed.  Partly because it will inevitably ruin his reputation with the club, but also because if we are now shopping in the conference south for managers then we really are in a bigger hole than i thought - we should expect better than somebody that has 6 months of professional management on his CV in the CS.  If Herefords managers name wasn't Paul Caddis we wouldn't be interested.

We are literally obsessed with ex players as a fanbase.

I think the worse it gets, the more people want to remember the good times and hark after ex players.

Fairly sure no one in Brentford’s fanbase is checking up on Alan McCormack’s career, all misty eyed, at the moment for example.

Totally understandable given our state.

Yeah, I can’t imagine 16th place in the Premier League Brentford are worrying about Alan McCormack as a potential next manager.

No harm in looking at managers lower down the food chain with some success/a good track record under their belt.

Probably a bit too soon to be looking at Caddis. This time next year though…

You don't think Man City still see players that played for them in the second and third tier as legends for the club and are happy if they get a position there?

Club legends are club legends.

Yeah its too soon anyway. He's showing promise, but even without the club being a shambles it might be a little early. He'll make many more mistakes he won't make later in his career.

Man City as a club are actually really good with players from that era.

I just mean that the fanbase aren’t thinking about Shaun Goater as a manager if they lose a game.

If they were a shit show on the pitch and Shaun Goater was managing well in the championship I bet they would be.

A lot of West Ham fans have wanted Di Canio every time for a new manager despite him being a proven basket case that failed with Sunderland.

That’s exactly the point I’m making!

Frank Lampard literally got the Chelsea job a few years ago in a similar position. OGS at Man Utd off even less. It's not what we'll run clubs do, but it's definitely a thing that happens.

Rare one that worked out better.

Hoddle at Spurs few years back was pretty middle of the road.

Happens all the time.

It might be a thing that happens but it rarely is successful
