For me, that was the most satisfying result/performance. Much more mature and none if that kamikaze madness. For the first time in ages I never felt there was an impending disaster waiting to happen.
Brewitt had a particularly good game. Young off it, Khan off it, the rest very good. They didn’t look a bad side but had little to offer up top. As per, the ref made a few strange decisions - none more so than stopping the game so the ball girl behind the TE could shift the plastic blue ball holder thingy a couple of yards to the right.
My 28/1 is looking very nice atm!
Did you park the car ok🤔

There was nothing there at all. Thames Water said it would be Tuesday before things were back to normal. I parked in and around Euclid Street and walked to The Merlin. Not a fan of queuing in a line to get served, mind. Much better with a scrum at the bar and use your elbows.
No TVs on in the DRS again at half time.

The perfect start, a tougher spell where Walsall grew into it and a dominant second half aided by the red.
A test well passed indeed. Maybe the craziness is over now.

Most important win of the season so far, a win without being particularly good. Not saying we were bad but that’s a game we don’t win in previous seasons and we’d be sat there saying “a promotion side wins that match”.
As I said before, I’ll wait until we get through Octobers fixtures before fully judging but happy so far

Notts County & Bradford in consecutive away games next month will be a hard test.

Agree that it was the most satisfying win yet. Played with a calm authority at times, against a well-organised side and we showed we can win without Kemp and Young firing on all cylinders. A better atmosphere (in the 2nd half) for a while too. Poor Joe Acklam got it with both barrels from Flynn, which was a bit odd…
I thought Farquarson looked solid and mobile for them - not surprised we were interested (if we were). McEachran, FBT, Brewitt, Hutton and Austin for a cracking header, all get credit.

Anyone catch the Flynn interview with Hawes when he asked him if he was pleased that Charlie Austin scored as he seemed to make reference to someone to his right who had been critising his role within the team. Adver journalist maybe🤔

That was a bit good. Wasn't it?.
Did we look absolutely solid and composed at all times? Did we fuck! But we kept another clean sheet and that is very important.
Austin got his goal while Young looked ineffective. Honestly i think it's a case of defenders attention. Austin has been brilliant this season without getting the goals and today it was Youngs turn to do a bit of donkey work for a change. All In all, this is the closest I've seen to a Parkin and Monloney combo since Doyle and Yates.
As for Walsall. Bunch of fucking mongs for fans. Fuck off back to yam yam land clutching your pearls over £1 sterling and your overall shite support. See you in March or whenever we play you when our away following will be worth talking about.
