It really is the best we’ve been since Wellens, other than about 7 games in the run in under Garner when he took the handbrake off.

We’ve had 3 seasons of utterly exasperatingly dire football to watch.

Flynn’s Swindon are Kevin Keegan’s Newcastle and I’m loving it.

I just can’t see how a towering CB and a nasty bastard DM would fit in that team without destroying what we’re all enjoying at the moment. Who could you leave out to accommodate a DM? Brewitt is playing so well I can’t see how any replacement would be an upgrade and you can’t drop FBT or Dokes. Sure, get some back ups in but for Gods sake don’t change what’s getting us out of our seats for the first time in a long, long time.

Funny, watching the extended highlights back and you realise Austin on another day scores about 5.

He was on hand for 4 of the goals but no one chose to square it to him for a tap in, and Kemp could/should have done the same for his first two misses in the first half.

He was in the right place and seems to be a massive part of “the group”.

Yep, having slept on it and re-watched the highlights I think I was being a bit harsh on Austin. He is clearly looked at by the younger lads as a leader as he is always heavily involved in the celebrations. His influence definitely adds to the performance even if his individual display shows not much.

I think we can all remember the player he was and that clouds the judgement of what's on display now. Having said that, we all bemoaned a lack of experience and he has that in droves.

Being there or there abouts I think he drew defenders which gave space for others.

Yeah, there is probably an element of ‘he’s Charlie Austin, we need to mark him’ in defenders heads. Leading them to somewhat forget about Jake Young.

With Young banging in the goal he won’t be long before teams start to focus on him and his goals will dry up and Austin will hopefully start putting a load in…

Bradford fans getting very salty about Young. It’s Doyle over again for them. Same arguments - recall him in Jan even if they don’t play him to derail us, recall him and sell him and use the money to buy Kemp.

Squirmy!

Austin is huge in this team and the way we play in my opinion.

He’s constantly talking to players during the game, his runs and movement draw players out and create space for others. As DV said, defenders are terrified of him and he’s helping Young, Kemp etc because he is who the focus is on.

We don’t win that 6.0 yesterday if we start with Young and RHM for example.

Exactly.

I've also noticed he is very involved in calming things down after fouls, making sure people stay clear of 'afters', chatting to the refs and so on.

Enjoying watching us at the moment, haven't said that for a long time.

We're going to give a lot of chances away and get caught out and beat occasionally but I'm onboard with the were gonna outscore you approach. Beats knocking it around at the back at a snails pace and hoping to get a fluke goal Lindseyball from last season for sure.

My solution - sell Hutton and buy Young/Kemp

It really is great to watch, i am loving it.Like Mooney said sooner or later someone will absolutely batter us but we will win more than we lose with this team.

I would love that to be the kick up the ass the crowd need too, it was good yesterday but lets get it better as we rea;lly do have that team i think that can give the fans a reason to cheer

I know it's early days and we have a few years of shit behind us but i think we focus too much on the negatives at times. The amount of peoples who first thoughts after the game was to moan that we should have been losing at half time did make me smile

Would Young have started these last few games if RHM hadn’t been out with injury/sickness? I think Flynn would have started RHM.

One thing that Super Scotty Whingey was right about... it is ridiculous that Young was able to score the header with 3 defenders and the goalkeeper around him!
A lot of that was the absolute quality of the cross by Uwakwe which was literally pinpoint, better than any cross Hutton has managed so far this season TBH.

BTW that was Crawleys record league defeat yesterday, their only heavier defeat was by Bath City a 7-0 loss back in Southern League Premier days in 2000.
