Nothing to do with having a big nasty central defender...
It's all about using your head and game management...
We did manage the game well for large parts and we were unlucky not to score more to kill it off. But injury time, eh? It seems like STFC is cursed for throwing away leads. Thk God for the resilience at FG.

Then why did we drop mega deep and lump to Tozer for the last 5 mins, when we had passed it around for 15 mins beforehand where they couldn't get a touch?

So it's your fault
No, usually my betting patterns have the opposite effect. Whatever I bet on doesn’t happen. So I put Money on the draw and a Wrexham win to try & stop the inevitable

Utterly Deflated, but think it's going to be a rollercoaster this season, players looked fucked last 15-20mins, not sure why Flynn didn't use the subs (as they did), could have bolstered the defence as we were sitting back anyway, Austin couldn't even jump at the end!

I was telling anyone who would listen only 0-0 would surprise me, but I didn't expect that.
They'll be happier but its honestly a pretty damning look on both our defences if either of us are going to be competing at the right end of the table this season.

The one sub we do bring on is an 18 year old with zero experience replacing another youngster with no experience.

In a position he has already looked shit in that isn't his preferred.

Yep. At least Minturn has a bit more presence and played a handful of games.

We had also brought Kinsella on, but I'm not sure anyone else we bring on does much to change the flow of the game to be honest. It's not like we had any sort of physical presence to bring on or an old head with plenty between the ears. We lack what we lack and we've not addressed it. I presume we are just going with what we have and hope we score more than the other team more often than not.

Just needed a big lump of a CB and we would have been home and dry.
Why not bring on Minturn for Young with 5 minutes remaining ?.

Indeed, I thought Genesini did ok, Ward looked lost at LWB. I wanted us to bring on Kinsella to at least try and shore up midfield earlier than he did. It does prove that we are very very susceptible to crosses and any balls played high into our box, not enough height at the back for all the nice passing we need a dirty great lump to head it away against teams that bully us like Wrectum did.

It’s in their heads now, though. Even having a game in the bag - twice - we’ve managed to fuck it up.

Well, if you brought Wakeling on for Young or Austin then you might have had someone who could hurry the defence or could run onto a hoof! Both were dead on their feet. When that happens, Austin drops deep.

Let's hope it's in Flynns head whilst the transfer window is still open!
