Do we know if there are any potential new owners in the M33 Triangulum galaxy?
Incredible images. How long does it take you to find what you’re looking for?

Thanks everyone. @Frigby Daser, it doesn’t take long these days. I have a bit of kit that acts as a controller which includes GoTo software and slews the mount to my desired target.

Not yet- my western horizon is blocked by buildings (and clouds and shit). I may have to take the kit for a drive when it gets a bit clearer.

@ Fuzzy. Greetings from Cape Town. We’re off today to a place called KAGGA Kamma. https://www.kaggakamma.co.za/A remote ‘hotel’ spa and other things. The other things for me is tonight and tomorrow I’ll in pitch black looking at the Milky Way from the southern hemisphere. I am so excited and expect to have my breath taken away. Hopefully I can get some decent pics on my iPhone or iPad. If anything decent I’ll post when we’re back in civilisation as there is not internet of telephone. Should be fun.

Lucky git!
Proper dark skies are breathtaking. Park yourself on a sunlonger and allow 10- 15 minutes for your eyes to adapt to the dark then enjoy.

M51 Whirlpool Galaxy. A stack of 100 2 minute exposures. This galaxy and the companion with which it is merging is around 31 million light years away.

I think this is by far my favourite thread on here thanks to Fuzzy.. I can't say i pretend to understand any complexities discussed, but the pictures are mental.. Top work that man

The millions of light years blows my mind when I start thinking about it.
It's all very clever it's astro photography. A guy I used to work with made himself an observatory in his garden, and, being an electrical engineer, made and sold his own filters of some kind.
